Athlete Bio

Hello all! I am a former track and field guy out of the University of Connecticut who was looking for a challenge. You can see in the video below that it has been a few years! Between the glory days back in 2010 and today my level of fitness has gone from in shape to round shape to in shape and back again, and this event just so happens to be catching me at the right point of the cycle to where I think I can finish this without keeling over (or maybe with keeling over, but eventually being able to get up at least). The D10 also happens to be benefiting a fantastic organization, and one that I have had some interesting experience with in the past - The Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Back around 2011 I had completed a test kit for the Be The Match program for a stem cell and bone marrow DNA registry. In 2015 my phone rang only to hear that I matched with a stranger, and over the next few weeks I was at Sloan Kettering in NYC several times for testing, and ultimately was able to donate stem cells for my matching recipient. This was one of the more rewarding experiences of my life and everyone that I dealt with at Sloan Kettering was fantastic. A worthwhile cause to check out for yourself! I am really pretty terrified to see what the past 9 years has done to my athleticism (I have not done any sort of officially measured athletic event since college), but time to strap on the spikes and see what is left in the tank! Thanks to all that are able to donate to this great cause, and hopefully I can see some of you out there on the track with me!
